Find your API calls before the date

Search your code, environment variables, automation tools, and server configuration for api.remove.bg. Scripts and no-code automations are easy to miss because they run unattended. A call that stops working after 1 December fails silently unless your code checks the response status.

  1. Search repositories and configuration for api.remove.bg and REMOVE_BG.
  2. List each integration, the parameters it sends, and the output format it expects.
  3. Pick a replacement and run your own representative test images through it.
  4. Switch production traffic before 1 December 2026 and keep error alerts on the new endpoint.

Your options

For the website: Canva's background remover, or a standalone tool such as the Cutout Lab editor on this page, which is free and needs no account. For the API: Leonardo.Ai's API, an API that accepts remove.bg-style requests, or another provider. The comparison pages below describe each option using the providers' own documentation.
